Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin Working On New Material Drummer Reveals

A record-breaking show may not have got been the last fans will hear of Led Zeppelin after it emerged that they are working on new material.

The 70s rock legends reformed for a one-off concert at London's O2 Arena last December in honour of Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun simply rumours of a full-scale reunion give birth been routinely denied.

But according to drummer Jason Bonham - whose late founder John was the band's original drummer - he, guitarist Jimmy Page and bass player John Paul Jones have been experimenting with new material.

He told Detroit radio set station 94.7 WCSX that creating original material had been "on the cards" since the eagerly-awaited concert at the O2.

"I've been working with Jimmy and John Paul and trying [stunned] some new material," Bonham revealed.

"I don't know what it will be, merely it will be something. At the moment, all I know is I have the great pleasure to go and crush with the two guys and initiate work on some material.

"When I get there [in the studio] I ne'er ask whatsoever questions. If I get a phone call to go and play, I enjoy every moment of it.

"Whatever it ends up as, to ever get a chance to jam with two people like that, it is a phenomenal thing for me. It's my life. It's what I've dreamed around doing."

He continued: "[The] possible action of doing something [like an album] is on the card game. I really felt it was on the card game from the moment we walked offstage at the O2.

"Lots of politics [would need to] get ironed out [in front an record album could be made]."

Singer Robert Plant has spent a great deal of the year since the O2 show touring with Alison Krauss and has non yet been involved in any Led Zeppelin recording sessions, Bonham confirmed.

Lindsay Lohan has 'secret' half-sister

Lindsay Lohan has a secret half-sister, it has been revealed.

The Mean Girls actress' dad Michael fathered a daughter while he was still married, although estranged at the time from Lindsay's mother Dina.

Speaking about the relationship over 13 years ago, Michael - who has three other children, Michael, Ali and Cody, with Dina - told America's OK! magazine: "Years later the woman contacted me, convincing me that I was the only person she was with and that she had my child."

Michael - who married Dina in 1985 before they divorced in 2007 - has even written letters to the girl's mother saying his illegitimate daughter "is beginning to look a lot like Linds, with a mix of Cody, believe it or not".

He also sent his daughter a photograph of himself, which he signed 'Love Daddy'.

The girl's mother says that while Michael called his daughter on her 13th birthday in June and has had many conversations with her, he has never visited her or provided financial support.

She said: "It's time for Michael to take responsibility."

Ledger family want to provide for Matilda

Heath Ledger's family have said that they intend to make sure that his former partner Michelle Williams and their daughter Matilda are "taken care of".
The declaration came after it was revealed that the actor had not updated his will since embarking on a relationship with Williams, leaving everything to his parents and sister.
Ledger's father Kim said in a statement: "Matilda is our absolute priority and Michelle is an integral part of our family."
"They will be taken care of and that's how Heath would want it to be."

Writers strike cost $2.7b

The recent Hollywood writers strike tipped California into a recession, resulting in a loss of $US2.1 billion ($NZ2.7b) to the state economy and costing 37,700 jobs, the Milken Institute said in a research report.

The report takes on increasing importance as the Screen Actors Guild and Hollywood's major movie studios are embroiled in their own contract talks that threaten to throw the industry into another work stoppage as soon as the SAG contract expires on June 30.

"The biggest thing that (a potential SAG strike) really does is it slows down the recovery, even a short strike is going to lead to a further disruption of filming schedules," said Kevin Klowden, managing economist at the Milken Institute and one of the report's authors.

Klowden said the three-month writers' strike that ended in February cost the entertainment industry alone $US500 million. But because Hollywood overlaps with other industries, the report found the strike had a wider impact overall.

Some 10,500 members of the Writers Guild of America walked off the job in November last year after failing to strike a new contract with major film and television studios represented by the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers.

Key sticking points in those talks centred on how much writers would be paid when their work appeared on the internet. Web-related payments also are an important hurdle to overcome in the current talks between SAG, which represents about 120,000 film and TV actors, and the AMPTP.

Klowden said the writers strike came at a very bad time for California because the United states was teetering on the edge of a recession.

"The fact is that for California this was essentially a tipping point that pushed us (the state) into a recession," Klowden said.

Jack Kyser, chief economist with the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corp, said the Milken report compares well to the $US2.5 billion regional damage estimate his organisation reported earlier this year when movie and television workers returned to work.

"It is very realistic, because these are high-wage people," Kyser said.
